Working Out and Wet Roots! UGH!

Good Evening All..
I cant even lie..I wasn't really that good this weekend. Italian food is hard to resist!! But today I was back in the gym-cardio and for the next 3 months my focus area will be the mid section. I have taken before pictures and they will be posted with my After photos in 23 days (when I finish the 30 day shred). I did work out on Saturday and Sunday so we'll see if that helps when I get on my home scale tomorrow AM. I always weigh in after my morning cardio blast. I hope everyone had a great weekend otherwise.

So lets get back to work! (and tracking..)
After I write this I will be working with Jillian Michaels so pray for me yall.

The reason Im putting up this post is to ask you all how you handle your hair (relaxed or natural, doesn't matter) when you work out 3/4/5 times a week??Its rough!! I always dread taking my scarf and/or wrap out after a good workout. Im always thinking about it when I'm on the elliptical machine lol..Its crazy. I  refuse to wear make up during the week because I exercise sooo much. I need my skin clear and pores open.(SB: and reminder to self to kick up the H2o intake..the heat is here in NY!!) I've been rocking the flat ironed, full bodied look for too long and with summer here I'm aiming for something curly and LOW maintenance.{the picture to the right: I usually wash and deep condition/ then blow dry then flat iron into pin curls--thats the result}
 I cant have all that heat (flat iron and blow dryer) on my hair. I'm thinking about trying out Bantu/Zulu knots. Has anyone done this? Should I get the black rubber bands to set them in place?? So many questions.. I use Motions products but I purchased a leave in conditioner and some setting foam. I'll take pics and post on Friday when I give it a test run.
I always wanna try this out because it can be used as a fail safe when I go on Vacation (Vegas In September yay!!) after I go swimming or something.

So let me go to do this Shred and I'll touch base tomorrow..Goodnight luvs!!

  1. Hair and working out is a hard thing to handle. One good thing is it's summer so I wear a lot pony tails and buns. My favorite style is the wrap or curls but with workouts its hard to maintain. When I do wear girls, I pin them up in pin curls with bobby pins. This really helps. I also wear bantu knots but let me just tell you, they take some getting use to. Sleeping in them can be uncomfortable in the beginning. They also fall pretty fast so when I do them, I use setting lotion, this helps. When I wear curls, I will clamp the back up and leave a few pieces hanging in the front. I'm tired of wearing buns so I'm planning on doing something cute for the 4th of July. I'm thinking some type of curls hanging in the front/side and the back up with a clamp or something. We shall see, LOL! If it comes out ok, I will post pictures.

  3. Hmm...When I was relaxed I tied it up in a ponytail or pinned it up. Just to kind of get it out of the way.
